Oliver

Holden, Matthew and I went to see our friends in a community production of Oliver.  They did a great job and it was fun to watch.
Here are Zoe and Gavin in their costumes, all ready for stage.

Clue

The boys love board games and have recently discovered Clue, which happens to be my favorite game when I was a kid.   Don't let Nicholas's face fool you, he had a good time playing.

Facebook

Years ago when all his friends were getting Facebook accounts, Nicholas asked us when he could have one.  I told him that FB says you have to be 13, and since I wasn't going to lie, he had to wait until then.  Of course when I said that I had no idea how fast the years would fly by and he would be 13.  When he turned 13, I told him that he had to read a book about internet safety.  Then Joe and I had multiple conversations (aka lectures) with him about how damaging an online profile can be, what is OK and not OK online, blah, blah, blah.  Then set some more ground rules about knowing his password and having access to his account at all times.
Finally, I ran out of reasons and we succumbed.  Nicholas is now on Facebook.  Here is a picture of his first time logging on.  He was a little annoyed that I wanted to document even this.  Has he not met me?

Soccer Practice

This is the view from my camping chair every Monday and Wednesday from 6-7 starting in April and ending in June.  Good thing Holden loves soccer so much.

Tomy Lewis

Nicholas's friend Tomy spent the night last night.  We LOVE Tomy.  He is always so sweet and gracious.  He went to Holden's soccer game with us and he and Nicholas threw the football around.

The rest of the Lewis clan showed up for the second half.  What good friends they are.

After school snack

Every single day, the first question I am ask is, "What is the after school snack.  Every single day.  Today's was cheese stick.  A favorite of many of these crazy boys.  Maybe we should just have it every day so the questions will end.

Last day of Co-op

Matthew attends a homeschool co-op on Wednesday.  He loves it.  He takes a History Class, a Humanities Class, a Literature Class, a Science Class, a Cooking Class, and a Weekly Reader Class.
Today was the last day and he is very sad.

Here he is with his class.

And here he is with the whole group that meets at Miss Lucy's house.

We are so lucky to have such an amazing group to home school with. We will miss them as we close this chapter and begin the next.

Holden's Boat

Springfield has an outdoor classroom in Forest Park.  Each year the students attend one or two days.  The program is called Eccos.  They do different activities each year.  In fifth grade they race boats down the streams in the park.  Here is Holden with the boat we made.

Scooters

The boys love the ride the scooters.  You will   often find them riding up and down the drive way.  Over and over and over again.  They also like to take them when we go on family walks.  According to them, it makes the family walks less dreadful.  Such kind boys.

Can someone please explain to me the need my boys have of making funny faces in pictures?

Humanities Field Trip To The Museum

We met Matthew's Humanities Class today at the Fine Art Museum for a field trip.  We looked at paintings and identified the elements of art.  I think this was my favorite class to teach.  What a great group of kids.  I really enjoy them.

Here is the class minus one little girl.

And here they are again with the younger siblings who tagged along.

After looking at paintings, we had lunch outside and then went to the Science Museum.   Here they are all sitting in a dinosaur footprint.  Aren't they cute?

Picture of The Day

When you live clear across the country from your family, you are so very grateful for technology.  I've started sending a picture of the day to my parents and siblings.  (I try to do it every day, but we all know how inconsistent I am.)
Every once in a while I get a picture back from them.  It always makes my day. I feel almost as if I were a small part of their special days, of their growing up, and their mundane glorious lives.  Here are the ones I have received so far.

Annie and John's graduation from Utah Valley University.
My beautiful niece Maddy on her baptism day.
Rosyln on a school field trip.
My daddy with his brother, Uncle Royce.
Claudia as the second attendant in the Little Miss Payson pagent.
Cadence's hurt hand on cello day.  She couldn't play.
Coda

Lucy.  (She and I have matching eyes.)
My daddy with Baby Kensington sleeping on his tummy.  How cute is this?
More to come..... (hint, hint)
