Matthew's Primary Talk

I'm pretty sure you aren't suppose to take pictures while a talk is given in Primary, but that didn't stop Joe.  Can you blame him?  Look how cute he looks up there.  And now we have captured it forever.

Red Rose

There is a family run pizza place downtown Springfield called Red Rose.  We love it and go whenever my parents or Joe's parents visit.  Their pizza is great and their salad is yummy yummy yummy.  Joe's parents came to watch Holden play soccer and then we went over to eat pizza.

Anders's Field Trip

The kindergarten classes headed to a pumpkin patch for their field trip this fall.  I got to go with them.    We rode on the bus and when we got there we went for a fun hay ride.
We found two great pumpkins.
After the hayride and pumpkin picking we had lunch, fed some animals, ate ice cream, played games, and played on the playground.
Anders with his friends Noah and Sidique
Anders sat by me on the bus ride there but wanted to sit with his friends on the way home.  We had a great day.

Open House

Every year Zanetti holds an open house so that parents can see their kid's classrooms and meet teachers.   We go every year and this is the only picture we have ever taken.  it is Holden's box where he puts his books.   But at least it is evidence that we went, right?

TMBG Concert Bushnell Park

They Might Be Giants came to Hartford to do a free concert at Bushnell Park.  It had rained all day,  so Matthew and I decided to stay home.  Undeterred by the forcast Joe, Nicholas, Holden, and Anders headed over with the Holland boys.

This was Anders's first concert and he really enjoyed it.  He refers to them as the Giants.
My boys' love for concerts definetly comes from their daddy.
Despite the threatening clouds, they actually didn't get rained on during the concert.
When you go to a concert with Joe you get there really early and wait for the show to start.
Bushnell Park is only a few block from Joe's first job after law school.  It is a beautiful park.

Apparently, the concert was great and everyone was really glad they went.

The first concert of the season was held at the downtown Library.  The kids demonstrated some of the singing skills they have learning and sang a few songs.  Great job kids.

Matthew's First Day of 1st Grade

Matthew attends a Homeschool Co Op that meets once a week on Wednesdays.  He has a history class, a literature class, a science class, a current events class, a cooking class, and a music class.

Here he is on the first day of Co Op with his class mates.
I teach two of their classes and they are so fun.
What a silly group of kids!
And here is our traditional on the porch picture.

Ice Cream

There is a cute litte hamburger stand that we pass on the way to and from Camp Joseph.  We stopped for ice cream on the way home.

Ice Cream taste better when eaten outside.
Anders needed a picture of his pumpkin ice cream.

This is where you pick up the food.
What a yummy way to finish off a great trip.

Camp Joseph

Oh, how we love our yearly trips to Camp Joseph.  As soon as we got out of the car Holden said, "Everything just feels right now that we are here."
And really what is not to love?

Look at the beautiful the camp ground.  Doesn't it just feel peaceful?

Our friends came.  We had such a good time with the Huas and the Flowers.
We walked over the the Waters of Mormon.  It was too cold to swim or play in the water, but we had a good time tossing rocks and playing on the shore.

And there is a great new playgound. The kids had so much fun swinging and climbing.
Moroni Hua mastered the monkey bars.

There is tons of room for the kids to run and play.

We always walk over to the Joseph Smith Memorial.

Nicholas and Ian Hua at the Memorial.

Matthew and Moroni.

Nicholas enjoyed having time to read.
We all enjoyed camp food.  Heavy on taste, light on nutrition.

We really just love to be together and enjoy being a family.  Our kids are so GREAT!

You should come with us next year.
