They Might Be Giants Concert

Joe got everyone tickets to see a They Might Be Giants concert in Boston.  I had this great idea to surprise the kids and not tell them until we were on our way.  We told them that we were going to see Grandma and Grandpa Metzger in New York.  Then we waited to see how long it took them to notice that we were driving the wrong way.  We waited and waited and no one noticed.  Nicholas was in a very bad mood when we left.  So he put his hood up and refused to talk to anyone.

Finally Holden saw a sign that said Boston 10 miles and Joe and I started to laugh.  Here is the result of that:

And then we did the big reveal:

Nicholas still wouldn't believe us, until Joe pulled the tickets out of his pocket and let Nicholas look at them:

The concert was at Berklee College of Music

The concert was great.  The boys did make comments about how loud it was, in spite of the earplugs.  They also felt like in gave them insight into why mom and dad like their music so loud.

Here is the crowd going into the concert.
Here is the band!
The back of Matthew's head.

The view from our seats.

Here is Matthew after the concert.  Apparently when you are 4 you can sleep through anything, including a very loud concert.

After the concert we went to eat at a place called B Goods.  It was SO good.  Matthew woke up for this.  (Well, kind of woke up.)

Joe took this picture from outside the building.
