It's 12 O'clock Somewhere

New Year's Eve was my last night with my parents. Their plane left super super early on New Year's Day. So they didn't want to saty up. I told them they could just pull an all nighter, but they thought that wasn't the best idea ever. So we decided to ring in the new year with those wonderful Argentinian people.
Happy New Year Buenos Aires!!!

After mom and dad went to bed, the Metzgers were going to have their own little party to ring in the New Year with the rest of New England.
Needless to say, Joe, Holden, and Matthew didn't quite make it.

Of course we invited Dick Clark into our living room. What would New Years Eve be without Times Square?

Nicholas was awake. I was trying to take a picture of us but he closed his eyes. He was awake though. Joe did wake up just in time so I had someone to kiss at midnight. Good thing too.

Happy 2010 Everyone!

Christmas Cards

I love Christmas cards I send out ALOT of them. I love to address them, mail them, and receive them. It is one of my favorite parts of the holiday season.
I love how I get to take a minute and think about all the people who have touched my life. It is a reminder of how many amazingly wonderful people are in the world. As the cards come in, I get another chance to feel connected. I buy painter's tape and put them up on the wall so that I can have my friends with me the whole season. So, thanks for all the cards. Can you find yours?

Funny Kids

No new updates on the ITP.  Just more of the same. Loads of doctors visits and blood tests.

Every time Holden prays he says, "And please bless Matthew that he will feel better."

Upon hearing this Matthew yells out, "I don't want to feel better!"  Right in the middle of the prayer.

Maybe he has a crush on the nurse at the hematologist office.  She is really nice to him.

Apple Picking

Going Apple Picking in the fall is a very New England thing to do.  This year we went with Joe to an Orchard in Monson.  It was so cold that we didn't take any pictures of us picking apples.

But, here is one of Joe drinking apple cider.  It was yummy.  We also had some apple cider doughnuts.  Delicious.
Here are our adorable boys by the apple tree that measures how tall you are.  Man, we love these little guys.

Touring The Farm

A family that we know through home schooling has an Urban Farm.  They raise vegetables, goats, and chickens.  They support themselves through the farm.  Holden has a class there once a week where they learn about farming.  He really enjoys it and says he is going to be a farmer when he grows up.  One afternoon they opened up the farm to the families to come and have a tour.  Here are the pictures of our tour.

Miss Kristine explains the layout of their farm.

This is Noah.  He lives on the farm.
Nicholas is super interested in the demonstration.

Miss Kristine is showing us the bees.

Matthew thinks everything is awesome.

The farm makes Marie smile.
The girls are taking notes about the goats.

Smith College Museum of Art

Zanetti planned a family field trip to the Smith Museum of Art. Holden had plans to go to a football game with the Holland family and I had a church responsibility. So Joe, Matthew, and Nicholas took the bus to North Hampton to enjoy the day.

Lake George

Aunt Joan very generously loaned us her house on Lake George for the weekend.  Grandma and Grandpa Metzger and Ron and Lisa came with us.  It was such a wonderful weekend.  It was too cold to swim for everyone but Joe.  We hung out on the deck, played games, and just enjoyed being together.  Joe has so many great memories of Lake George.  He spent a lot of time there as a kid.  I think Lake George is his happy place.
